What Is Emotional Freedom?
At its core, emotional freedom is about letting go of the emotional weight that holds us back—self-criticism, guilt, perfectionism, and fear of judgment. It’s the ability to accept ourselves as we are, flaws and all, and make choices that align with our true needs and desires. Emotional freedom isn’t about ignoring responsibilities or running from challenges; it’s about creating a mindset that prioritises authenticity, balance, and self-compassion.
For us women in particular, this concept can be really powerful in terms of our health and happiness.
So… How Do We Practice It?
Release Guilt & Reduce Stress
The guilty feels... are we “doing enough?” are we “being enough?” We can feel guilty for simply for wanting something for ourselves. This constant inner dialogue can lead to huge stress and a real loss of a self esteem and a sense of who we are.
By practicing emotional freedom, we can start to let go of these unrealistic expectations. So, recognise when you start to feel this way and ask yourself – am I taking care of me? Don’t wait for burnout. Lowering stress levels benefits everything to do with your physical and mental health.
Accept Change & Build Confidence
Bodies evolve and that can be unsettling. Weight shifts, energy dips, and changes in appearance can feel like a loss of control. Emotional freedom allows us to stop seeing these changes as failures and instead view them as natural transitions.
